First Party Insurance Claims and Disputes
When you buy an insurance policy, you are buying a promise that the insurance company will help you in your time of need. In order to drive a car, receive medical treatment, provide for loved ones in the case of an accident, or protect one's home or business, insurance is a necessity. When your insurance company doesn't keep its promise, Danahy & Murray, will help. We offer free consultation to all potential clients.
Danahy & Murray handles insurance and coverage claims against property, health, life, and disability insurance companies, as well as resulting claims for bad faith. In property cases we represent both commercial and residential policyholders with a variety of problems.
Policyholders should be cautious when an insurance company is quick to offer to settle a claim. Often a quick settlement is indicative of an incomplete evaluation and damage analysis by the carrier.
An insured should never accept a check that indicates that the payments are a full and final settlement or sign a release of the insurance company. Releasing your insurance company or cashing a check coded as "Final Payment" or "Full Payment" may eliminate your ability to recover additional damages to which you may be entitled under your policy.
At Danahy & Murray, we realize that it is difficult (if not impossible) to hire an attorney when you have been denied coverage or underpaid by your insurance company. For that reason, we often provide our clients representation on a contingency fee basis. In such cases, the client pays no fees or costs unless we make a recovery.
