Biography
Michael A. Giasi was raised in Tampa and attended Jesuit High School where he graduated in 1994 magna cum laude. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida in 1994, and in 2001 his Juris Doctor, with Honors, from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Mike earned the Victor O. Wehle Award for excellence in trial advocacy. In 2001, upon his graduation from law school and admission to the Florida Bar, Mike served as an assistant state attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Hillsborough County. Mike left the State Attorney’s Office in 2004, to concentrate his practice on defending those charged with violating State and Federal crimes. He has extensive experience in private practice defending those charged with First Degree and Life Felonies, including “white collar” or financial crimes, racketeering, and fraud. He has represented insurance adjusters and those charged with insurance fraud at trial by jury. Mike has tried over one hundred cases to verdict before a jury.
Mike wanted to bring his courtroom experience to help those wronged by insurance companies, and joined Danahy and Murray in pursuit of that goal. Here, Mike aggressively litigates all matters pertaining to the rights of an insured in all first party actions, including breach of contract, property loss, and insurer bad faith. Mike is a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honorary Legal Fraternity, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before all State Courts in Florida, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Mike lives in Palma Ceia with his wife Melissa, and their son Michael.
